Turkish police dismantle cybercrime network, hundreds detained Video
Turkish authorities have carried out a large-scale crackdown on cybercrime suspects across the country, detaining hundreds in a ten-day operation that spanned nearly all provinces.
According to a statement by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya on X, security forces conducted coordinated raids in 58 provinces, targeting individuals wanted for a range of cyber-related offences, Caliber.Az reports.

A total of 334 suspects were taken into custody. Of those, 170 have been formally arrested, while 86 have been placed under judicial supervision. Legal proceedings for the remaining individuals are ongoing.
The suspects are accused of serious offences including aggravated fraud, illegal online betting, the distribution of child sexual abuse material, cybercrimes involving payment systems and IT infrastructure, as well as organised theft.
Authorities also seized a significant cache of unregistered firearms and digital evidence during the raids.
Yerlikaya said the operations form part of Türkiye’s broader efforts to combat cybercrime and protect public safety in the digital sphere.
