Turkish president announces drafting of new constitution
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed the desire to adopt a new constitution prepared by the will of the people.
Erdogan noted that one of the most important goals of their vision for the “Türkiye Century” is to lead the country to a civil and libertarian constitution, TRT Haber reports.
“We want Türkiye to adopt a new constitution prepared by the will of the people. We look forward to the input of our judicial representatives in this regard,” he noted.
According to him, this issue will be discussed in the country's Grand National Assembly after the elections.
"This will be one of the most important goals on the 100th anniversary of the founding of Türkiye," he added.
He specified that the new constitution would include provisions relating to the activities of the judiciary.
