UK envoy hails Technest Scholarship Program in fighting gender inequality

The Technest Scholarship Program, supported by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, is an example of how the Azerbaijani government is fighting gender inequality in the field of digitalization and attracting more women to the IT field.

British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld said this while speaking at today's conference on "DigitAll: Gender Equality in Innovation and Digitalization," Report informs.

According to Auld, the issue of gender inequality in the field of digitalization is very important.

The Ambassador noted that last year's death of an Iranian girl, Mahsa Amini, once again highlighted the problems associated with gender-based violence against women.

“The UK government believes that increasing the digital literacy of women is very important in the overall fight against gender-based violence and inequality,” he added.
