US, Azerbaijan discuss security cooperation PHOTO

First Deputy Defence Minister, Chief of General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel-General Karim Valiyev, met with the 29th Chief of the US National Guard Bureau, General Daniel Hokanson at the US Department of Defense on November 30.

During the meeting, the generals discussed the future of security cooperation between the US and Azerbaijan.

"Today, I had the honour to host First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army Colonel General Karim Valiyev here at the Pentagon,” Caliber.Az quotes Hokanson as tweeting.

The meeting was also attended by Azerbaijani Ambassador to the US Khazar Ibrahim.

“We hailed the Azerbaijan-Oklahoma National Guard security cooperation partnership's 20th anniversary. Joined by Azerbaijan Ambassador Khazar Ibrahim, we reaffirmed the high value of this enduring, mutually beneficial security relationship and discussed areas for future cooperation,” the US general tweeted.
