Will TikTok face a ban in Azerbaijan? Official statement

The US House of Representatives has passed a bill that could see TikTok banned in America.

Since many citizens in Azerbaijan are also dissatisfied with the activities of this platform, considering it a source of moral degradation, debauchery and stupefaction of society, the possible ban on the use of TikTok in the US stirred a public debate.

Responding to a question whether blocking of TikTok in Azerbaijan is possible, the Electronic Security Service (ETX) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan told Caliber.Az that no decisions have been made on this issue at the state level.

The TikTok application has already been banned from being used on government devices in several Western countries, including countries that are members of the Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance - the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand and Australia, as well as on the phones of employees of the European Commission and NATO.
