Artur Aghajanov: Future of Garabagh is connected with Azerbaijan

Garabagh Armenians can take advantage of Azerbaijan's economic opportunities and live a much better life, head of Garabagh Armenians Movement Artur Aghajanov told Report.

"Did we need a new escalation to start reintegration? Was it necessary for blood to be shed again? Why didn't this junta withdraw the Armenian armed forces from Garabagh and liquidate the defence army after 2020, holding civilians hostage? Three years after the 44-day war is lost time. We must realise that the future of Garabagh is linked to Azerbaijan," Aghajanov said.

ValeriyYeritsyan, a member of the Garabagh Armenians Movement, also spoke about the three years lost because of the junta, during which the lives of Armenians living in Garabagh could have been improved.

"The financial aid provided by Armenia to the junta was used only for military needs while ordinary people continued to live in difficult socio-economic conditions both before and after the 44-day war. At the same time, the reconstruction of Garabagh, which Azerbaijan started in 2020, could also affect the towns and villages where Armenians live. It is because of the junta that we lost almost three years, during which the life of Armenians in Garabagh could have been improved," Yeritsyan said.
