Azerbaijani, UAE presidents hold cooperation talks

President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan made a phone call to Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev on December 9.

During the telephone conversation, the heads of state discussed relations and prospects of further cooperation between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani president’s press service.

The presidents touched upon spheres of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UAE, in particular, opportunities for cooperation in economic development, renewable energy and other important areas for the sustainable development of the two states.

President Aliyev and President Al Nahyan shared views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

During the telephone conversation, they talked about the World Summit on Climate Change organized in Dubai within the framework of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP28.

President Aliyev congratulated the UAE leader on the success of the Summit, recalled with satisfaction his meeting with Al Nahyan in Dubai and thanked him for his hospitality.

The Azerbaijani leader expressed hope that the results of the event would make a practical and significant contribution to the fight against global climate change, as well as serve the progressive development in the world.
