Armenian defense minister meets with new commander of Russian peacekeepers
Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan received commander of the Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh, Colonel-General Alexander Lentsov on April 28.
According to Caliber.Az, this was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defence.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin, Defence Attache of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Armenia, Colonel Igor Shcherbakov and former Commander of the Russian peacekeepers, Major General Andrey Volkov.
"The parties discussed the operational situation in the zone of responsibility of the peacekeeping contingent and the existing problems, as well as a number of issues aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Karabakh," the report says.
