Armenian-Iranian diplomatic talks intensify amid diesel price concerns

22 November 2024 12:00

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi spoke by phone for the second time this week.

The recent surge in diesel fuel prices at Iranian customs for trucks with foreign license plates, which has caused significant problems for Armenian drivers, was one of the topics discussed during their latest conversation, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.

In a post on social media platform X, Mirzoyan stated, "In a telephone conversation with my colleague, I touched upon topics on the agenda, including the expansion of bilateral cooperation in areas that can bring additional benefits to our citizens."

The first phone call took place on November 14. During that conversation, Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi shared on his Telegram channel that Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of continuing consultations between Yerevan and Tehran regarding regional developments.

In addition, Armenian media previously reported that Mirzoyan had also held a telephone conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot. The two ministers discussed various issues on the bilateral agenda and highlighted the strong political dialogue between Armenia and France. They also noted the active development of relations through the implementation of joint programs.

Both ministers agreed to continue efforts to further deepen their partnership in all areas, particularly through close cooperation between their respective foreign ministries.
