Azerbaijan's national air carrier, AZAL (Azerbaijan Airlines), has initiated operations from Baku to yet another London airport, Gatwick, starting from March 17.
Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the UK Elin Suleymanov, Vice President for Aviation Development at Gatwick Airport Stephanie Weare, media representatives, employees of the airline and other officials of the two countries took part in the welcoming ceremony of the first flight of Azerbaijan Airlines at London's Gatwick Airport, Caliber.Az reports, citing AZAL’s press service.
Azerbaijan Airlines will operate flights from Baku to London's Gatwick Airport three times a week: on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. With the launch of the new route, AZAL will serve 6 weekly flights between Baku and London.
The decision to increase the frequency of flights between Baku and London was taken to meet the growing demand. It also fits within the framework of the airline's strategy to expand its flight geography.
Tickets can be purchased on the official website www.azal.az, via the airline's updated mobile application, as well as at Azerbaijan Airlines' ticket offices and accredited agencies.
