Azerbaijan grabs first medal in wrestling competition in Türkiye

Freestyle wrestler Aliabbas Rzazade representing Azerbaijan at the fifth Islamic Solidarity Games in Türkiye’s Konya city, has ranked third.

Rzazade's opponent was Tajik athlete Hikmatullo Vohidov, Report informs.

The Azerbaijani wrestler won the bronze medal scoring 8:7.

This was Azerbaijan’s first medal in this kind of sports and the sixth medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games.
