Azerbaijan pledges solidarity with Syria amid critical statehood recovery phase
Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister, Yalchin Rafiyev, has expressed support for Syria as the country faces a critical phase in its efforts to restore statehood and rebuild relations with its allies.
Rafiev made the comments on X page following a meeting with Syrian Transitional Government Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani in Damascus, Caliber.Az reports.
The Azerbaijani diplomat also took to social media to convey his gratitude for the warm hospitality extended during his visit.
"We expressed Azerbaijan's solidarity with our Syrian brothers and sisters as they embark on this critical stage of statehood restoration and improving ties with Syria's friends," Rafiev wrote. "I wish you success in this important endeavour."
Syria has been grappling with the aftermath of years of conflict, with efforts now underway to re-establish stability and international relations.
