Azerbaijan’s consent needed to create any mission in Garabagh Kremlin on US proposal
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has commented on the US initiative to create an international mission to protect the residents of Karabakh.
He noted that any mission can exist only with Azerbaijan's consent, Kommersant reports.
Peskov also stressed that Russia continues to discuss the situation with both the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides.
"No, we don't see any specifics here yet. After all, any mission can exist only with the consent of the Azerbaijani side. We should be aware of this in the first place. We, in turn, continue our contacts with Yerevan and Baku, as well as with ethnic Armenians of Karabakh," Peskov said during a press call in response to a question about how the Kremlin views the US proposal for an international mission.
