Azerbaijan, Spain sign memorandum of understanding PHOTO/UPDATED
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain Jose Manuel Albares as part of the official visit to Spain.
During the expanded meeting in the presence of delegations, the ministers noted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in several spheres, including the economy, trade, high technologies, energy, science, education, tourism, culture and others, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani foreign ministry.
The 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations is marked this year, and the importance of mutual visits at the highest level and dialogue at the political level was also noted.
Bayramov informed his Spanish colleague about the post-conflict situation in the region, reconstruction and construction work in the liberated territories, the work conducted for the safe return of internally displaced people to their houses and the steps taken by Azerbaijan towards establishing peace in the region.
A lot of work is being carried out in tourism, alternative energy, agriculture and mining sectors in the liberated territories, there are broad prospects for cooperation with Spanish companies.
In turn, Jose Manuel Albares emphasised the interest of Spanish companies in investing in Azerbaijan and the broad prospects for cooperation in tourism, trade and economy.
The views on the issues of the partnership between Azerbaijan and the European Union and cooperation in the fields of energy and transit were exchanged.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ADA University and the Diplomatic School of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation was signed by ministers as part of the meeting.
The foreign ministers of the two countries made a statement for the press following the meeting.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between ADA University and the Diplomatic School of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
The document was signed by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain Jose Manuel Albares, Caliber.Az reports referring to the Azerbaijani foreign ministry’s message on Twitter.
"The MoU will provide an impetus in the field of education and exchange of knowledge," the ministry said.
