Azerbaijani culture days set to showcase art, heritage in Türkiye

12 October 2024 09:59

Azerbaijan is set to celebrate its rich culture and art in Türkiye with a series of events organized by the Culture Centre at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ankara.

The "Days of Azerbaijani Culture and Art" will take place in Izmir on October 15 and in Istanbul on October 17, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

In Izmir, the MÖTBE Cultural Centre will host an exhibition featuring Azerbaijani national culture, including handicrafts, souvenirs, and traditional costumes. Young Turkish models will showcase a collection of historical Azerbaijani garments curated by the "Baku National Costume House." The day will culminate in an evening program featuring performances by Azerbaijani artists and dance groups.

The celebration will continue in Istanbul on October 17 at the Ataturk Cultural Centre, where an exhibition will display exquisite carpets from the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, along with works by Elnara Rasulova, a renowned artist and museum specialist. A collection of historical Azerbaijani women’s costumes, presented by Gulzada Abdulova, Head of the Ethnography Department at the National Museum of Azerbaijani History, will also be featured.

Following the exhibition, a concert program will showcase performances by Azerbaijani artists and expatriates living in Türkiye.

This cultural initiative is being supported by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, highlighting the enduring ties and shared heritage between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
