CAREC to feature regional climate strategies at COP29
The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Program (CAREC), an initiative of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), is set to unveil its joint climate solutions at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11-22, accompanied by a call for collective action.
These solutions will be discussed at the CAREC Ministerial Conference on November 8, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The announcement was made during the 3rd meeting of CAREC's Working Group on Climate Change (WGCC) held in Baku.
Notably, CAREC is a consultative forum, established in 1997 on the initiative of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in order to create a database and build financial capacity and regional cooperation to accelerate economic growth in China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, as well as in Azerbaijan, participating in this program since 2003.
Key areas of CAREC activity are the implementation of joint projects for the development of trade, energy, and transport infrastructure.
