FM: Remembrance Day marks proud chapter in Azerbaijan’s history
Azerbaijan remains committed to advancing a peaceful agenda, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov affirmed on the occasion of September 27 – Remembrance Day.
According to local media, Bayramov highlighted the significance of the day in a social media post, marking the fifth anniversary of the start of the 44-day Patriotic War.
“September 27 marks the fifth anniversary of the start of the 44-day Patriotic War, which put an end to nearly 30 years of occupation and aggression, laying the foundation for the current realities of the post-conflict period and peace in our region. September 27 – Remembrance Day is a proud page in our history, when we honour the memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan,” the minister stated.
Bayramov also paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of those who defended Azerbaijan:
“We honour with deep respect and reverence the memory of the brave sons and daughters who gave their lives for the triumph of historical justice and international law, and we wish healing to all those who participated in the war and lost their health along the way. At this time, when lasting peace and stability are closer than ever, our country will confidently continue its efforts to promote the peace agenda,” he added.
