Kazakhstan liquidates 19 particularly dangerous gangs in 2024

The National Security Committee of Kazakhstan has reported major successes in 2024, dismantling 19 dangerous criminal groups and bringing dozens of their leaders to justice.

According to the committee's Telegram channel, 72 leaders and active members of these groups have been held accountable for committing serious and particularly serious crimes, including murder, robbery, and extortion, Caliber.Az reports.

The coordinated efforts of the committee and police forces have led to the detention of 98 individuals suspected of involvement in violent criminal activities.

Among those detained are accomplices connected to foreign criminal organizations, further highlighting the transnational scope of the problem. Of the 98 detained, 40 individuals have already been convicted, while pre-trial investigations continue for the remaining suspects.

The National Security Committee emphasized that the fight against organized crime remains a top priority, with ongoing measures to eliminate criminal activity and ensure public safety.

As these operations continue, authorities remain committed to eradicating the influence of criminal groups and upholding the rule of law.
