Qatar, Kuwait extend heartfelt condolences to Azerbaijan over fatal AZAL plane crash
In the wake of the tragic plane crash involving an Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer-190 aircraft on December 25, 2024, leaders from across the Middle East have expressed their condolences to the people of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The crash, which occurred near Aktau in Kazakhstan, resulted in the deaths of 38 individuals, including 37 Azerbaijanis, 16 Russians, 6 Kazakh citizens, and 3 Kyrgyz citizens. A total of 62 people were on board, with 29 passengers, including three children, surviving the accident.
Qatari leadership's condolences
His Highness Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, expressed deep sympathy for the loss, conveying his heartfelt condolences to President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and the bereaved families. He offered prayers for the departed souls and wished a swift recovery for those injured in the crash.
Similarly, Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Deputy Amir of Qatar, echoed the sentiment, extending his condolences to the victims' families and praying for Allah's mercy on the departed.
Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Bin Jassim Al-Thani, also sent a message of condolence, emphasizing the solidarity of Qatar with Azerbaijan during this difficult time. His Excellency wished strength to those affected by the tragedy and a speedy recovery to the survivors.
Kuwaiti leadership's tribute
Kuwait’s Prime Minister, Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, joined in offering condolences. Expressing sorrow over the incident, he prayed for divine mercy for the victims and a quick recovery for the injured.
