An artillery shell hit a Turkish military base near the town of Bamarni in the Iraqi province of Dahuk in the north of the country on July 28.
Sources in the local security services reported that the shell exploded near the base itself, which provoked a fire, according to Iraq's Shafaq News.
Fire trucks arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire that engulfed agricultural land and dry grass.
To recap, Ankara launched operations in northern Iraq against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in response to what it said was an increase in militant attacks on Turkish army bases along the border between the countries.
Turkey’s military bases are active now in several states, including Libya, Qatar, Syria, Northern Cyprus, and Iraq.
