Twenty Turkish MEMATT minesweepers deployed in liberated Azerbaijani lands

Türkiye has so far handed over 20 mechanical demining machines of the domestic MEMATT brand to Azerbaijan.

The announcement came from Yasin Arslan, Spokesman for the Turkish National Defence Ministry, during an interview with journalists on April 6 in the mine-contaminated Jabrayil district of Azerbaijan.

According to him, MEMATT can be operated from a distance of 500 metres.

Arslan also said that Azerbaijani specialists have been trained to properly use the minesweeper.

"MEMATT is being used in all the areas liberated from the [Armenian] occupation. Currently, intensive demining activities are continuing in Aghdam and Fuzuli,” he noted.
