UK’s parliament welcomes launch of "Friends of Azerbaijan" group to boost ties PHOTO

A solemn event has been held in the House of Lords of the UK Parliament to celebrate the launch of the "Friends of Azerbaijan" group, further strengthening the ties between the two nations.

The reception, hosted by Lord David Evans, a long-time member and vice-chairman of the Azerbaijan Group in the UK’s Parliament, was attended by key figures from both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, along with prominent representatives from the UK’s public life, Caliber.Az reports via local media. 

During the event, Lord Evans praised the deep and successful relationship between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan, emphasising that the UK remains Azerbaijan's largest investor. He expressed his unwavering support for Azerbaijan, wishing the newly-formed group success in its future endeavours and reiterating his commitment to backing the country in every way. 

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the UK, Elin Suleymanov, also spoke at the event, expressing his satisfaction with the restoration of the "Friends of Azerbaijan" group in the new parliamentary session. He highlighted that the bilateral relationship between the two countries is exemplary and continues to grow stronger with each passing year.
