Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan issue joint statement on cooperation Summit in Ashgabat
Ashgabat hosted the first trilateral summit of Presidents of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to Anadolu, this is the first high-level meeting in such a format.
During the talks, the heads of state discussed issues of expanding partnership in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The presidents of the three countries also exchanged views on the development of cooperation on international and regional platforms.
As a result of the Ashgabat summit, a Joint Statement was adopted.
The document reflects topical issues of regional cooperation discussed during the meeting between the presidents.
As a result of the summit, the heads of state expressed their desire to further develop cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The readiness to continue strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan within the framework of international organizations, primarily in the UN, as well as on other international and regional platforms, was especially emphasized.
