Azerbaijan, Bangladesh discuss expanded energy coperation
Azerbaijan and Bangladesh have discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the energy sector, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies and potential investment opportunities, according to Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov.
Shahbazov said the talks took place with Bangladesh’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Iqbal Hasan Mahmood, focusing on strengthening bilateral energy ties, Caliber.Az reports.

“We also exchanged views on the supply of LNG and other energy products, opportunities for SOCAR presence in Bangladeshi market, long-term partnership, and the role of diversification in ensuring energy security," he wrote on X.
The discussions included the potential for the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) to expand its presence in the Bangladeshi market, alongside broader efforts to develop long-term energy partnerships and diversify energy supply chains.
Both sides emphasised energy security and cooperation as key areas of mutual interest amid shifting global energy markets.
