Azerbaijan to double number of trees in Baku by 2040

Azerbaijan plans to plant 9,762 hectares of trees in Baku by 2040.

Aytaj Akbarli, the sector head at Baku's Main Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, made the remarks, according to Caliber.Az. 

She also stated that green zones cover 11,528 hectares, or 5.43 per cent, of Baku's administrative territory.

Thus, according to the new General Plan, the total area of green areas in Baku will reach 10 per cent, and the area of green spaces (landscaping) that each city resident will have will be 8 square metres.
