Azerbaijani citizens have fewer chances for asylum in Germany Report by Federal Office for Migration and Refugees
German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) has said that a total of 528 Azerbaijani citizens asked for asylum in Germany during the first three months of 2024.
It was noted that the applications of 395 Azerbaijani citizens were considered during that period. Only 3.8 per cent of them were recognized as refugees and received a residence permit in Germany. A decision was made on procedural completions in 101 cases, Report informs.
The BAMF stated that a total of 279 Azerbaijani citizens received a negative response to their application for refugee status during three months. They were asked to leave the country voluntarily. Some of them lived illegally in Germany despite the warning. The cases of those persons were sent to local administrative courts.
According to the report, 71,061 foreign nationals arrived in Germany and applied for asylum in the first three months of 2024, which is 19.3 per cent more compared to the same period of 2023.
