Georgia strengthening ties with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Türkiye President Kavelashvili says
Georgia is committed to enhancing its relationships with its neighboring countries—Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Türkiye—as part of its efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
This was emphasized by Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, during his speech at the Ambassadors’ Conference 2024, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media.
Kavelashvili highlighted that Georgia views regional ties as crucial and intends to further strengthen cooperation with these countries moving forward. The President underscored that Georgia's foreign policy is focused on fostering peace and stability in the region through strengthened ties with neighbours, particularly Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Türkiye, as well as promoting long-term peace in the South Caucasus.
In addition to discussing relations with neighboring countries, Kavelashvili also addressed Georgia’s diplomatic stance with the United States. He reaffirmed that Georgia’s priorities in its relationship with the US remain steadfast and unchanged.
“Our commitment to strengthening relations with the United States remains steadfast. We anticipate resolving misunderstandings under the new administration and ensuring that the priorities outlined in the Strategic Partnership Charter are reflected in all areas of cooperation,” he said.
"Strengthening connections with our diaspora is also crucial to engage them in nation-building efforts. Together, we will ensure Georgia’s integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures, enhance our security, and achieve peace, stability, and economic prosperity for our nation,” President Kavelashvili stated.
