Iran prosecutes famous actress for appearing in public without hijab

Iran has prosecuted famed actress Baran Kousari for appearing in public without a hijab.

For instance, the actress attended the funeral ceremony of actor Hesam Mahmoudi on May 5 without observing the hijab. Photos of the actress from the ceremony, the agency noted, immediately appeared online and in some media outlets, Tasnim news agency reported.

"A court case has been filed against this actress for not observing the hijab and has been forwarded to the concerned authorities," the report said.
