Türkiye sends 208 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza
The Turkish Defence Ministry has revealed that it dispatched a significant amount of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, the Press and Public Relations Advisor of the Ministry of National Defence, provided details during a Press Briefing Meeting in Ankara, Caliber.Az reports.
Aktürk expressed optimism about a four-day humanitarian break in the conflicts, describing it as a "positive development."
He emphasized the hope that the agreement would be fully respected, and the humanitarian pause could contribute to the cessation of hostilities in Gaza.
Aktürk underscored the necessity of continued efforts for peace, stating: "We emphasize once again that a lasting peace in our region will not be possible without a just settlement of the Palestinian issue."
Regarding Türkiye’s aid to Gaza, Aktürk outlined that a total of 208 tons of humanitarian aid materials and 5 tons of medical supplies have been dispatched to the region.
This assistance was coordinated with the Ministry of Health and other relevant institutions, and it was delivered through 11 planes.
The announcement comes amid escalating tensions in the region, with Türkiye actively participating in humanitarian efforts to alleviate the impact of the conflict on the people of Gaza.
