Türkiye tests upgraded unmanned ground vehicle
Turkish company HAVELSAN has successfully conducted the first firing tests with a 12.7mm machine gun on the upgraded armed unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) KAPGAN, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish Defence News’ Twitter page.
The head of Türkiye’s Presidency of Defence Industries Ismayil Demir said that many Turkish companies are successfully working on unmanned ground vehicles.
“Our defence products are used in the service of our security forces, and efforts are being made to equip some of them with new capabilities. Our unmanned ground vehicles continue to be equipped with new weapons,” Demir said, adding that KAPGAN will hence be used alongside its already-in-use analogues in the field.
Demir also congratulated all domestic companies that have contributed to the development of KAPGAN and is convinced that they will achieve great success in this area.
