13 June 2024 12:11

The Armenian Armed Forces have again shelled Azerbaijani positions in several locations within the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic after a long calm.

On June 12, from 10:05 to 17:50, Armenian Armed Forces units shelled several times the Azerbaijani Army positions in the direction of Khavush settlement of Sharur district, Nurgut of Ordubad district, Guney Gishlak of Shahbuz district of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with small arms, the Defence Ministry's press service told Caliber.Az.

The Azerbaijani Army units took retaliatory steps in these directions.

To recall, last time the Armenian Armed Forces shelled the Azerbaijani Army positions on April 13. At that time, the Azerbaijani Army positions were shelled in the direction of Tovuz district. Thus, after 61 days of calm, Armenians decided to escalate the situation. All this is taking place against the background of destructive statements by the Armenian Prime Minister, who, in fact, on June 12 declared his refusal to revise the paragraphs of the Armenian Constitution that infringe on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
