Baku summons Russian ambassador over false media reports directed against Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has summoned Russia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Yevdokimov.

During the meeting, it was noted that the dissemination of false materials and reports in the Russian press and by certain official circles in Russia, directed against Azerbaijan, raises concerns and contradicts the content and spirit of the Declaration on Allied Interaction between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ministry.

The ministry recalled that preliminary results of the investigation into the tragic crash of an aircraft belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines are known, and work is ongoing to conclude the investigation. Azerbaijan’s expectations from Russia regarding the accident have been clearly stated.

Regarding reports in the local press about the "Russkiy Dom" (Russian House), it was emphasized that these do not reflect the official position. The activities of such organizations in Azerbaijan are based on the principle of reciprocity and must be carried out in line with the country’s legal requirements.
