Official: Azerbaijan to start resettlement to Shusha in first quarter of 2024
Resettlement of Azerbaijani citizens in Shusha will start in February-March 2024. It is planned to resettle more than 300 families.
The remarks came from Aydin Karimov, special representative of the Azerbaijani President in Shusha district, during an interview with Azertag.
"The streets of Shusha city will be completely reconstructed, water and gas pipelines and power lines will be laid underground. Construction of the first 17-kilometre section of the internal street and road network with a total length of 56 kilometres will begin in 2024. In parallel with the reconstruction project of the internal street and road network, the public transport system will be improved. Taking into account that Shusha is a city reserve with a rich history, mainly small-size transport, electric passenger buses will run here.
As for housing, construction works in the 23-building residential complex will be fully completed in the first quarter of next year. In total, there will be 450 flats in the residential complex. Most of the flats will be handed over for use to former IDPs," Karimov said.
