Russian ambassador: US sanctions trigger Moscow-Ankara trade problems

Russian Ambassador to Türkiye Aleksei Yerkhov has said that US sanctions tightened at the end of 2023, led to difficulties in trade and economic relations between Russia and Türkiye.

"At the end of the year, tightening of American sanctions led to very serious difficulties in bilateral trade and economic relations. All this has to be dealt with in addition to the current work on ensuring the exchange of delegations, the protection of the rights and interests of our citizens, and their consular services," the ambassador said, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.

According to him, diplomats "always have a field for activity" in the Turkish direction.
