Russian-Turkish Joint Monitoring Centre in Aghdam marks second anniversary
Two years have passed since the establishment of the Russian-Turkish Joint Monitoring Centre in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam District.
As Oxu.Az recalled, the Joint Monitoring Centre was built in the territory of the liberated Agdam district following the end of the Second Karabakh War when the memorandum on the establishment of a joint ceasefire monitoring centre was signed between Türkiye and Russia on November 11, 2020.
Azerbaijan’s Defence Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, Russian Deputy Defence Minister, Colonel-General Alexander Fomin and Deputy National Defence Minister of Türkiye, Yunus Emre Karaosmanoglu attended the opening ceremony back on January 29, 2021.
An equal number of Turkish and Russian military personnel have been assigned to the centre and are supervising the ceasefire conditions in the region.
