Armenian troops have shelled Azerbaijani construction equipment on the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border.
The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry press service made the remarks in a statement posted on its website on September 7, Caliber.Az reports.
From 08:10 to 12:40 on September 7, Armenian Armed Forces units fired small arms of various calibres on the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border in the direction of Kalbajar District's Ahmadli village from positions in Garakilsa District's Norovan village, the press service says.
As a result, construction equipment (excavator) belonging to a private enterprise laying roads for Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the stated direction was also targeted.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported despite the damage to the company's equipment.
To prevent further provocations by the Armenian Armed Forces, Azerbaijani army units have taken retaliatory measures.
The operational situation is under the full control of the Azerbaijani army units.
All responsibility for any escalation on the state border lies with Armenia's military and political leadership, the report concludes.
