Azerbaijan, SCO discuss cooperation expansion PHOTO

The delegation headed by Assistant to the Azerbaijani President Anar Alakbarov, on their visit to China, has met with Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Secretary-General Zhang Ming in Beijing.

During the meeting, Ming, emphasizing Azerbaijan's active role as a dialogue partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, hailed Azerbaijan’s active participation in events held within the organization, Report informs, citing Azertag. 

Highlighting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's participation in the SCO summit held in Samarkand in September 2022, Ming spoke of the effective cooperation between the organisation and Azerbaijan.

The secretary-general said the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's active participation in SCO events enhances the parties' cooperation and underlined that Azerbaijan's cultural and humanitarian potential was demonstrated through a series of important events held at the SCO Secretariat on that country's initiative.

Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov stressed that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to relations with SCO, and spoke about development prospects of cooperation in various areas.

He said after Azerbaijan became an SCO dialogue partner, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation secretariat carried out a series of events in close cooperation with the organisation.

The meeting also included discussions about future cooperation between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Chinese People's Friendship Society with foreign countries.
