BP-Azerbaijan completes maintenance work on East Azeri platform
Preventive work has been completed on the East Azeri platform, which is part of the annual work program for the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli project.
According to the plan, production from the East Azeri platform was suspended from June 13, 2022, for 15 days as part of the effective implementation of planned preventive, inspection and design work, BP-Azerbaijan told Report.
The program ended successfully on June 27 night.
Various projects, including the modernisation of the torch ignition system, and the replacement of radioisotope sources, were implemented within this program. The installation of an isolated gas transmitter and a launch module on the platform are also envisaged within the program. Energy production will be optimised by obtaining energy from other facilities at the Azeri field.
Such programs are part of normal operations and they are regularly held. Program planning work was launched in 2021 and is included in the annual program and budget for 2022. A temporary shutdown of the platform is also included in the production plan for this year.
