Pakistani media chief says D-8 media centre in Baku “timely and necessary”
The establishment of a D-8 Media Centre in Baku is a timely and important step, the head of Pakistan TV, Adil Shahzeb, said at the D-8 Media Forum in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.
Shahzeb noted that Azerbaijan, which recently became a member of the D-8, holds deep respect in Pakistan and maintains close, friendly ties with his country grounded in shared values, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He said he fully supports the proposal to set up the media centre in Baku and, drawing on more than two decades of experience in journalism, described the initiative as long overdue.
He stressed that in today’s environment, strategic communications and crisis management have become essential components of national security, public diplomacy and effective media governance.
Shahzeb added that, given ongoing events in the region, Pakistani journalists have effectively become crisis-management experts in the field of strategic communications over the past six months.
