Nobel Peace Prize for sponsor of terrorism, separatism
Humanists are not the same these days

    ANALYTICS  08 April 2024 - 17:30

"Ruben Vardanyan has been nominated for the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize for his "charity and humanitarian work". His candidacy was proposed by a number of reputable persons, including the Nobel Peace Prize laureate". This news was disseminated by Armenian media and confirmed by the office of Ruben Vardanyan, who has long been labeled a "humanist and philanthropist". At the same time, his activities "in besieged Artsakh" were mentioned as something positive. That is, there is no repentance there. On the contrary, support of separatism in the territory of Azerbaijan, this is precisely what Vardanyan was doing in the Karabakh region of the country, is presented there as a feat.

It is clear that there is a huge difference between nominating someone for a prize and receiving it. But the very fact of attempting to whitewash the accomplice of a huge number of crimes against Azerbaijan for the Nobel Peace Prize is a savory spit in the direction of the Nobel family. Especially taking into account their connection with Azerbaijani oil. As known, after the industrial revolution in the oil fields in Baku in the 70s of the 19th century, more than a dozen foreign firms paid attention to the oil-rich region. The first foreign company in Baku was founded by Nobel brothers - Alfred, Ludwig and Robert. So, 12 per cent of the Nobel Peace Prize came from Alfred's shares in the Nobel Brothers oil company in Baku. And now there are those who demand that it be handed over to a character who is in a Baku pre-trial detention center and is charged under a number of grave articles.

More specifically, he committed criminal acts under Articles 214.1 (financing of terrorism), 279.3 (participation in the creation and activities of armed formations or groups not provided for by law) and the most "harmless" - 318.1 (illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Vardanyan with the purpose of committing terrorist and provocative actions illegally crossed the state border of Azerbaijan, entered the territory of temporary location of RCC in Karabakh, took part in the formation and organization of armed formations, supplied these gangs with weapons and ammunition. Much of it is still being discovered in Karabakh. That is, the evidence base for Vardanyan's crimes is extensive. In fact, he himself has never denied his provocative mission. Thus, in the BBC Hard Talk program with Stephen Sackur he said: "We cannot imagine ourselves as a part of Azerbaijan. We are a separate country. I'm talking about 'Artsakh'. "Artsakh" does not want to be a part of Azerbaijan."

In addition, in an interview with Forbes magazine, he speculated about the mythical "Artsakh people" and threatened Azerbaijan. "An attempt to solve this militarily will cost Azerbaijan very dearly and in terms of direct casualties," he said at the time.

In other words, Vardanyan not only brazenly denied Azerbaijan's legitimate right to restore its territorial integrity, which Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also spoke about recognizing it, but also threatened the sacrifices that Azerbaijan would suffer in the process of asserting its legitimate rights. This fact alone would be enough in any country across the world to put the author of such threats in prison for very long years. The "Humanist and Philanthropist" openly glorified the Armenian terrorists who organised the Operation Nemesis, as a result of which former Ottoman Interior Minister Talaat Pasha, former Ottoman Navy Minister Cemal Pasha, former Prime Minister of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) Fatali Khan Khoyski, Deputy Chairman of the ADR National Assembly Hasan-bay Aghayev, former Interior Minister Behbud Khan Javanshir were assassinated.

Moreover, Vardanyan not only glorified Armenian terrorists who organized Operation Nemesis, but also threatened the leadership of Azerbaijan. He said that "anything can happen to the leadership of Azerbaijan". And this is already a concrete threat to commit terrorist acts against the first persons of Azerbaijan. Do some of those now nominating Vardanyan for the Nobel Peace Prize think how shameful they look, promoting a supporter of terrorist acts, a follower of those who carried out Operation Nemesis?! I very much doubt it. However, something similar has already happened in recent history. I mean Mikhail Gorbachev, who received the Nobel Peace Prize at a time when his hands were up to his elbows in the blood of Azerbaijanis.

I would also remind that former FSB colonel Igor Strelkov (Girkin), who led sabotage operations in Donbass in 2014, once made a very interesting confession about Vardanyan's past. He said that Vardanyan is one of the sponsors of the former head of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and now member of Russian State Duma Alexander Boroday - one of the Ukrainian collaborators responsible for fomenting separatism in Donbass and Crimea in 2014. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Ukrainian center "Peacemaker" included Vardanyan in its list and claimed that he committed conscious acts against the national security of Ukraine, peace, security of mankind and international law and order, as well as other offenses.

By the way, Vardanyan is remembered for driving out of Khankandi in a car of Russian peacekeepers carrying dirty laundry, including underwear. The character who allowed himself to be squeezed between dirty underwear is now nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize! By the way, if he had stayed in Armenia after that foul-smelling escape from Khankandi, he would have been free. But he then returned to Khankandi and continued his provocative activities. In the end, he was caught and brought to Baku. Caught, I should note, while trying to escape from Khankandi. That is, Vardanyan realized that he had committed a lot of crimes and hoped to escape this time. But his plans did not come true. And now a trial in Baku awaits him. The decision on Vardanyan will be made objectively and indisputably.

And all attempts to mold a sponsor of separatism and terrorism into a "humanist and philanthropist" are immoral and ridiculous. In any case, they will have no impact on Azerbaijan- the country which has fully restored its sovereignty and territorial integrity by defeating Armenian separatism and terrorism as a phenomenon. As for its offshoot in the person of Ruben Vardanyan, everything will be as it should be - according to law and justice.
