Armenian priest willing to come to power intensifies activity demanding to oust Armenian PM

The rallies, organised by the “Tavush for the Motherland” movement, have been held in Armenia for several days.

The formal leader of the movement is the head of the Tavush (Tovuzgala) diocese of the Armenian Church, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, who is demanding to oust Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Six people suspected of storing weapons and ammunition were brought into custody in Etchmiadzin town.

The Armenian Interior Ministry said that a rally participant of the “Tavush for the Motherland” movement on May 6 posted a video footage on TikTok by saying let’s gather, perhaps secretly it will be possible to bring weapons.

According to investigative bodies, the matter rests in participation in rallies of the movement.

We think that the Armenian law enforcement agencies must more decisively combat such negative, dangerous phenomena as extremism among the clergy representatives of the Armenian church, and more decisively arrest offenders, conduct searches and inspections.

Tomorrow may be too late. There have already been examples in history when Armenian terrorism was covered up by the church or when Armenian terrorism was covered up and inspired by the Armenian church.

One should not forget about the events of the early 20th century, when the Armenian clergy representatives blessed the Hunchak and Dashnaktsutyun terrorists, rendered them direct support, hid them, forged documents and turned churches into weapons warehouses.

So the Armenian law enforcement agencies must pay special attention to the clergy, churches and monasteries. Who they offer prayers to? What do they preach?

Galstanyan’s house must be searched.

We would advise the Armenian law enforcement agencies to act immediately, because if Galstanyan manages to overthrow Pashinyan, then the police officers will suffer first because “a change of power means, first of all, a hundred thousand vacancies”.

As for the Dashnaktsutyun party, it made a statement.

“The Armenian authorities have prioritized their personal interests, as well as the geopolitical goals of foreign powers promising a false peace without any security guarantees, and are implementing programmes directly financed through them,” the Dashnaktsutyun party says.

“The Armenian people are paying a high price for this heinous policy, facing the threat of loss of statehood and the tragic prospect of another genocide. We express our support for the struggle to preserve the sovereignty, territorial integrity and secure borders of Armenia,” the party says.

We have already heard such phrases as “genocide”, “sovereignty”, “give money” and “we really want to come to power”.

Meanwhile, citizens are currently spontaneously blocking various streets in Yerevan.

There were many detainees, for example, law enforcement agencies detained Menua Soghomonyan, who is a member of the “Hayaqve” revanchist initiative group. There are some victims (which is pleasant).

“The police officers used force and as a result, one of the citizens who were brought into custody was injured. He is currently in the Zeytun police department and is being treated,” lawyer Ruben Melikyan wrote on Facebook.
