Blatant cynicism of int'l community leaves Armenia's war crimes go unpunished See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil

The remains of bodies found in Melikahmedli village of Gubadli district and Vejneli village of Zangilan district, presumably belonging to Azerbaijani citizens who went missing during the First Garabagh War, have been exhumed recently. Rightfully, the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan initiated criminal cases under Articles 103 (genocide), 107 (deportation or forced resettlement of the population), 120.2.12 (premeditated murder), and other equally serious normative acts of Azerbaijani criminal law, and the investigation is already underway.

It is not the first time that such shocking findings testifying to the inhumanity of the occupants, and the heinousness of the crimes committed by them during the First Garabagh War have been discovered. In March last year, the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Citizens of Azerbaijan reported that the servicemen of the Azerbaijani army discovered the remains of at least three people during engineering works in the vicinity of Farrukh village of Khojaly district. In general, 62 servicemen went missing in the battles for Farrukh Heights in the 90s of the last century, and now it is assumed that the remains of three of them have been found. In the same bloody period for our country, 46 Azerbaijani servicemen went missing in Pirler village of Aghdam district, located near Farrukh Heights, and another 11 people - in the vicinity of Aliagali village.

In general, the figures of losses of the Azerbaijani side manifest beastly cruelty, bloodthirstiness, and brutality of the Armenian occupants. Not to mention more than 12 thousand dead, at the moment more than 4 thousand Azerbaijanis are missing since the first war in Garabagh. An appalling number! Baku has repeatedly justifiably accused Yerevan of withholding information about the fate of these Azerbaijanis, appealing to the international community to help resolve the issue. A deathlike silence in response.

No sanctions have been imposed against Armenia for committing such blatant, nightmarish crimes against Azerbaijanis and on Azerbaijani soil. Moreover, for almost 30 years Armenia has blatantly ignored the four UN Security Council resolutions of 1993, which unequivocally demanded the complete, immediate, and unconditional withdrawal of the occupying forces from the territory of Azerbaijan.

Although Armenia has clearly demonstrated its barbaric, absolutely uncivilised nature, no restrictions, and no more or less rigid actions of international structures have been taken against it. As a result, illegal Armenian armed formations are still deployed on the territory of the Garabagh economic region of Azerbaijan. Official Yerevan is coordinating their activities through the Ministry of Defence of the country. In addition, salaries and pensions of Garabagh Armenians are allocated from the RA state budget, which is also a provocation, which is preferred to be ignored by the politicians in France, the USA, Russia, and other countries of the world "funded" by the world Armenians.

They are silent about the crimes of the Armenian military during the 44-day war. After all, it was Armenia that launched missile strikes on peaceful Azerbaijani towns. Ganja was bombed with ballistic missiles and rocket artillery. Thirty-two civilians were killed and dozens were wounded. The Armenian Armed Forces also subjected the Azerbaijani town of Barda to artillery and rocket fire, killing 29 people.

But that is not all. The number of crimes committed by Armenia after the end of the 44-day war is also growing. The list of Azerbaijani citizens who lost their lives because of Armenian mine terror is growing without end. Recently, a serviceman of the Azerbaijani army was injured as a result of the explosion of a mine planted by a sabotage group of the Armenian armed forces in Aghdam. In total, 306 Azerbaijanis have been killed by mines and unexploded ordnance since November 2020. This was reported by the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Aykhan Hajizada on the social network "X".

And what is it? Where is an adequate reaction to this crime of those Western politicians, those international organisations, which are now trying to put pressure on official Baku?! However, the cynicism of the situation is that the pressure is exerted on the country which is the victim of occupation. A country whose cities were turned into ruins by Armenian vandals. A country that merely demands the full implementation of the principle of territorial integrity.

There is no pressure on Armenia, with whose passports tens of thousands of Armenians live on the territory of the Garabagh economic region of Azerbaijan. On the contrary, we see almost open support for the Garabagh separatists. They are very happy about the scandalous statement of the European Union Foreign Policy Service that "it is important for Garabagh Armenians to consolidate around the actual leadership".

The statements of various American congressmen and senators, who call for something in Azerbaijan but do not condemn Armenia for the huge number of crimes it has committed, are also received with enthusiasm. Luis Moreno Ocampo, who positions himself as an independent expert, stands apart from those bought and paid by the world Armenian community. If he were really decent, objective, and independent, he would decry all the terrible crimes of Armenia against Azerbaijan. But he keeps silent, proving his venality. Exactly the same can be said about all those who look for a speck in Azerbaijan's eye without noticing the logs in both eyes of Armenia.
