Foreign experts credit Azerbaijan for re-establishing full control over Karabakh Expert opinions on Caliber.Az

On October 15, President Ilham Aliyev raised the Azerbaijani national flag in the central Khankendi outside the building of the former regional committee of the Communist Party of the Azerbaijani SSR, where the illegal administration of the separatists was located during the years of occupation.

The coat of arms of Azerbaijan has been installed at the top of the facade of the building. On the same day, Ilham Aliyev also raised Azerbaijani flags in a number of cities and towns in liberated Karabakh.

Doctor of History, Director of the Institute of Effective Politics (Chisinau) Vitaly Andrievsky notes that Ilham Aliyev deserves the right to raise the flag of Azerbaijan in Karabakh.

“Azerbaijan has never abandoned these territories and its citizens who lived there. Azerbaijan has not seized alien territory but returned what belonged to it. There is historic justice in this. Now the main task is to integrate this region into the economic and social fabric of Azerbaijan, implement the planned ambitious projects for its development, and also maintain peace and harmony in this territory,” the Moldovan expert says.

In his opinion, President Ilham Aliyev raised the Azerbaijani flag in Khankendi and this symbolizes the end of a long conflict and the triumph of historical justice.

“Everything goes to the great personal merit of the Azerbaijani president. Ilham Aliyev, with all his activities, has earned the right to raise the flag of Azerbaijan,” Andrievsky believes.

Political analyst Kazbek Beisebayev of Kazakhstan considered it necessary to note that Azerbaijan showed the whole world how to restore justice.

“I congratulate the entire Azerbaijani people on this significant event. It matters to me, too. My army friend Silyan Rustamov once lived in the city of Aghdam. I hope that he and his family returned home,” the Kazakh expert said.

According to Doctor of Military and Political Sciences, Professor Vakhtang Maisaya (Tbilisi), by raising the flag of Azerbaijan in Khankendi, President Aliyev put an end to the struggle for the territorial integrity of his state.

“I think it will be received absolutely positively around the world. There are, of course, some countries where this moment will be perceived in their own way, but the main thing is that Azerbaijan did not violate humanitarian law, did not violate the rights of the Armenian ethnic minority on its territory. I think that all this will be observed in the future, and there are no contradictions here, because Azerbaijan, on absolutely legal grounds, defeated aggressive separatism, which was just recorded in due time - at the OSCE Budapest summit,” the Georgian expert noted.

According to him, the current event will become a good example for Georgia, for those states that still have problems with separatism.

“By the way, it was the separatists in post-Soviet countries who were distinguished by their violation of the principles of international humanitarian law. I think that at this stage all leading states and international actors will absolutely adequately perceive these steps of Baku. I believe that we can congratulate the Azerbaijani people and the country’s leadership on the fact that they were able to eradicate such an evil on their land as aggressive separatism, and restored territorial integrity,” concluded Maisaya.
