How Freedom House targets Azerbaijan  Commanded by Washington

Before preaching sermons, one must honour the commandments. Once again, I am convinced of how easily and simply this worldly wisdom is ignored by all those who consider themselves worthy of the mentor’s toga, blatantly overlooking the fact that it is tattered and stained with blood. I remembered this wisdom after encountering yet another statement from the so-called "human rights" organization Freedom House.

They have once again decided to use a primitive and brazen lie regarding Azerbaijan, this time in the context of the upcoming COP29.

“Little more than a year ago, Azerbaijani armed forces launched a lightning military assault on the previously self-governing territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, dissolving the territory’s political, legal, and civic institutions and displacing virtually the entire population of ethnic Armenians,” states the Freedom House statement.

As we can see, this organization is trying to convince everyone that Azerbaijan has attacked itself. Furthermore, this organization refers to the Karabakh junta, the Armenian separatists, as a "self-governing territory." This is despite the fact that no country in the world has recognized what is essentially a flight of fancy from this American "non-governmental" organization. They present themselves in an absurdly ridiculous light.

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has repeatedly stated his recognition of Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, including the Karabakh region. Against this backdrop, Freedom House's statement sounds nothing short of outrageous, especially when we consider when it was made.

October 11 marks four years since Armenia's fourth deadly missile strike on Ganja. At approximately 2:00 AM on October 11, 2020, the enemy launched a ballistic missile at the city centre. This attack resulted in the deaths of 10 civilians and injured more than 40 others. It is important to note that Ganja was targeted five times by Armenia using missiles and heavy artillery. These assaults led to the deaths of 26 people, with 175 others wounded, and caused significant damage to vehicles and civilian infrastructure in the city.

Overall, during the war that began on September 27, 2020, and lasted for 44 days, 93 Azerbaijani civilians lost their lives (including 54 men, 27 women, and 12 children), and 444 were injured (including 268 men, 109 women, and 67 children). Yet, not a word was mentioned about this in the Freedom House statement. This further proves that the attempt to discredit Azerbaijan is carried out in a controlled manner, on command, and without regard for reality.

“Azerbaijan is opening itself up to bask in the world’s attention. Advocates of freedom and democracy should seize on this opportunity,” states the Freedom House announcement. We have heard exactly the same sentiments from various Armenian and pro-Armenian politicians in France, the US, and other countries. The former Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Luis Moreno Ocampo, uses the same “argument” in advocating for the release of the leaders of the Karabakh junta, who are awaiting a fair trial in Baku.

I would also like to remind you that 60 US Congress members, ahead of COP29 in Baku, are urging the US administration to hold Azerbaijan accountable for “war crimes, hostage-taking, and the illegal occupation of Armenian territory.” It is evident that we are witnessing a strikingly similar line of “reasoning” being employed against Azerbaijan in the lead-up to the COP29 conference in Baku.

Coincidence? Certainly not. We remember that Freedom House became active just before the Eurovision Song Contest held in Baku and the First European Games. Just like then, they are now acting under direct instructions from their handlers in Washington. It’s important to remind ourselves that, in reality, as has been proven time and again, this organization is merely a mouthpiece for the US State Department. Freedom House receives directives on how, when, and how often to discredit various countries. The situation is quite simple and mundane: he who pays calls the tune. This is evident in the fact that 66-80% of Freedom House's budget is funded by the US government through grants.

So here we have a so-called "non-governmental" organization, and here is the answer to the question of whose orders Freedom House follows when it attacks Azerbaijan. This is yet another example of how absurd those appear who attempt to preach sermons without honouring the commandments.
