Ocampo vs Azerbaijan - money waster Attempted provocation in Berlin
The former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Luis Moreno Ocampo, who has successfully mastered the money of the world Armenian community, is once again offering his services to organize another Azerbaijanophobic provocation. This time - in Germany, where, as is known, President Ilham Aliyev is on a working visit on 25-26 April.
Thus, the day before it became known that on 26 April, during the negotiations between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Dashnaks will hold a picket outside the Federal Chancellor's Office. According to the information, members of the Central Council of Armenians of Germany, as well as Ocampo, who is fed by the Armenian Diaspora, and Tessa Hofmann, a German ‘human rights activist’, a researcher at the Freie Universität Berlin, an Armenianophile with a long history, will take part in the picket. It should be noted at once that the participation of the former ICC prosecutor in the provocation of Armenians is, to put it mildly, an unenviable role. However, what you can't do for money.
Let us recall that Ocampo visited Armenia twice and is remembered for his groundless statements that ‘the Hague Tribunal has the right to consider the issue of the Armenian genocide’. He claimed this in April 2010 at the 37th Congress of the International Federation for Human Rights. Later, in 2015, no longer a prosecutor of the ICC, he was again in Yerevan at the ‘international forum against the crimes of genocide’, where, along with Sargsyan, he was one of the main speakers on the topic of the so-called ‘Armenian genocide’. And now Ocampo, who has been out of circulation, has once again had a chance to earn money and shake Armenian bigwigs.
He is not accustomed to another mission to vilify Azerbaijan, and he has already started working on the Armenian order. Armenian media report that the day before Luis Moreno Ocampo made a speech on ‘International legal aspects of the forced deportation of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh’ at the Human Rights Commission of the Bundestag.
Today Ocampo spoke at a conference organized by the Armenian Diaspora in Germany.
‘The Society of Endangered Peoples, the Central Council of Armenians, the Working Group on Recognition - Against Genocide, for the Understanding of Peoples, and the International Society for Human Rights have sent a joint appeal to Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz. In it, the organizations call on Scholz, in particular, to publicly condemn the expulsion of 100,800 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh and to announce sanctions in case of a repeated attack on Armenian territory,’ the conference press release reads. In the same press release, Armenians urged everyone to attend the event, the highlight of which was Ocampo's speech.
The Armenian diaspora and the Dashnaks had high hopes that Ocampo would succeed in passing off the voluntary exodus of Armenians from the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan as an ‘expulsion’ and sway the German government to the side of world Armenians. Recall that last summer he presented a ‘report’ on the so-called ‘genocide in Karabakh’, which he compiled at the request of war criminal Arayik Harutyunyan, and in December 2023, Ocampo published a second report ‘on the genocide of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh’. The commissioned ‘reports’ were replete with fake facts about the ‘humanitarian catastrophe’ in Karabakh, as well as attacks on the Azerbaijani leadership.
By the way, in our previous publications, we told our readers how Ocampo managed to prepare a ‘monumental work’ in defense of separatists in a short time. And Armenians themselves helped us in this. It turned out that the ‘report’ was written under the dictation and with the direct participation of Armenians. Judge of the Supreme Court of Orange County in California Gassia Apkarian, who wrote the Ocampo ‘report’, told about it on the air of the Armenian Internet TV CivilNet. According to her, she spent 12 hours writing the legal opinion, which was eventually signed by the former prosecutor.
However, to the misfortune of the world Armenian community, these phony credentials were smashed to smithereens by Rodney Dixon, a leading lawyer and expert in international law, Counsel at the Temple Garden Chambers law firm. In his estimation, all of Ocampo's claims were unsubstantiated and had absolutely no credibility. The Temple Garden Chambers document drew attention to the fact that Ocampo's report ‘lacked the hallmarks of impartial and rigorous expert analysis and that the methodology of the work served to politicize legal and factual issues and exploit them for political purposes’. In other words, according to Dixon's expert judgment, Ocampo's ‘report’ failed to identify evidence supporting the key elements of ‘genocide’.
At the same time, the second ‘report’ of the Armenian hireling was even uglier than the first one. It did not contain a single proof with an evidentiary basis, and Ocampo cited anti-Azerbaijani statements of biased French politicians as arguments in support of his conclusions. The pathetic excerpts from Ocampo's ‘report’ are worthy only of ridicule, but Armenians needed such a document for anti-Azerbaijani propaganda in Europe. This is evidenced by the fact that the notorious Ocampo ‘report’ is widely but unsuccessfully used in its anti-Azerbaijani activities by the American international public relations and strategic communications agency EDELMAN, which is engaged by Armenians.
Despite all this, Armenian diaspora organizations continue to use the services of the Argentine fraudster with enviable persistence and invest considerable funds in provocations with his participation. This time in Berlin.
We are sure that this action with Ocampo's participation was also a failure. The openness of President Aliyev at the joint press conference with Scholz, where he clearly answered questions prepared in advance by opposition migrants and German journalists, and the activity of the Azerbaijani community in Germany, which today warmly supported the Azerbaijani leader, contributed to this.
