Probe into Defense Industry Ministry plant blast launched UPDATED
A probe into the explosion at a plant of the Ministry of Defense Industry in the city of Shirvan has been launched.
As the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office told Caliber.Az, a criminal case has been opened by the Shirvan city prosecutor's office on the fact of the death of Mehman Akhmadov (born 1966) and the wounding of Sabina Shakarova (born 1978) as a result of an explosion of ammunition at a factory in the city of Shirvan under Art. 162.2 (violation of labor protection rules, negligently resulting in the death of a person) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
An investigation is continuing.

The Shirvan City Prosecutor's Office is investigating the case, the scene of the incident is being examined by employees of the city prosecutor's office and a forensic prosecutor.
Earlier, APA news agency said ammunition exploded at a plant of the Ministry of Defense Industry in Shirvan at around 11:30 am.
As a result of a munition explosion at an assembly plant, a worker died, and another was hospitalized with various injuries at the Shirvan Central Hospital.
A resident of Shirvan, Ahmadov Mehman, born in 1966, was killed, and Shakarova Sabina, born in 1970, was injured.
