Selective use of moral principles Old World fails to see Armenian vandalism
While arrogant Europeans profess a religion of democracy and equality with inherent snobbism, their protégés, who successfully tied themselves to their patrons with spiritual bonds, violate the dogmas of the same religion with impunity.
There are plenty of examples to testify to this. Horrifying footage of Armenian vandals intentionally and inconsiderately destroying tombstones in Azerbaijani cemetery has appeared on social networks. According to preliminary information, the video was shot at the cemetery in the village of Gizilbulag, Basarkechar region. According to other information, it occurred near Khankendi, in the zone of temporary responsibility of Russian peacekeepers. Although, in principle, it is the fact of the blasphemous crime that is important here, not its location.
This is just one of the many cases in which Armenians have partially destroyed or completely destroyed Azerbaijani burial sites, which has long been known and even documented by the relevant Azerbaijani structures. In fact, the Azerbaijani side has never counted on Armenians' decency and did not even expect them to be reasonable. For some reason, they like to fight precisely with dead Azerbaijanis, perhaps because of a lack of courage.
As we can see, even today, two years after the end of the 44-day war, and while negotiating a peace agreement, Armenians are still showing vandalism and disgusting sacrilege towards Azerbaijani graves. Azerbaijan has long ceased to hope not only that Armenians are really Christian believers, that they are trying to prove to everyone, forgetting that it is a great sin in this religion to disturb anyone's graves, but even that they will be ashamed, at least in front of the whole world, that they are caught in barbarism. History itself shows that these people have never concealed their inclinations, which are, to put it mildly, far removed from those of a civilized society.
There is nothing new in the bestial habits of our neighbours who do not take the trouble for moral values. But why are the adherents of international law, who insist on democratic values and enforce them everywhere, so indifferent to the lawlessness of the Armenians? Azerbaijanis are, however, still waiting to see whether democratic Europeans and Americans will condemn the Armenian criminal rampage, with some degree of doubt. Will French President Emmanuel Macron give his authoritative opinion on the matter, or does he specialise only in criticising the Azerbaijani side?
It is equally curious what the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, thinks about Armenian vandalism. And how, by the way, does Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, a zealous peacemaker, see the Armenian immoral treatment of Azerbaijani cemeteries?
Armed with patience, we waited for a couple of days until the MEPs empty another bottle of Armenian brandy and finally pay their democratic attention to the flagrant violation of Azeris' rights by Armenians, and the insult of their human and religious feelings. But MEPs remain silent and do not react in any way to violations of democratic principles and human rights. The European media, which is quick to respond to groundless complaints from the Armenian side, also remain silent, not bothering to look into the images of the destruction of Azerbaijani tombstones.
However, the Azerbaijani people lost the remnants of credulity and naivety back in the 90s of the last century, after the treacherous seizure of its territories, so they do not expect punishment for the Armenian militants who destroyed both the population of the occupied areas and the material and spiritual heritage - ancient monuments, mosques, graves, testifying to who the true owner of this land. Just as there was no indignation or condemnation of the guardians of international law, the norms of which the Armenians systematically violated, so now the European bureaucrats turn a blind eye to the vandalism of Armenians that continues even after the surrender. Although, maybe not such bureaucrats, but the most supporters of the aggressors.
In this particular case, according to democratic Europe, law and order apparently apply only to Christian cemeteries, while Muslim graves are somewhere outside the moral boundaries of "civilized society".
For many years, Azerbaijan has been calling on the world from all international platforms to hold Armenia accountable for the crimes it committed, for the occupation, and rocket attacks on Ganja, and other cities and villages of Azerbaijan. For three decades, no one has been punished for the Khojaly genocide. Baku has repeatedly presented facts of the destruction by Armenians of the cultural and religious heritage of our people both in the previously occupied land of Karabakh and in Armenia itself, particularly in Yerevan. But all in vain. And this shows once again that Muslim cemeteries are not honored with European values and whatever happens to them is not barbaric. Though, on the other hand, if even the life of a Muslim has not reached the moral imperatives of the West, it is unlikely that the Old World will pay attention to a Muslim who died long ago.
The Western world is always ready to accuse Azerbaijan of anything, but it never wants to admit the violations and crimes of Christian Armenia. Unfortunately, such conclusions are being drawn from the observed reality. The European Parliament's indulgence to Armenia is a strong argument, proving that twisted morality and double standards have long been the norm for many European officials unwilling to acknowledge the truth and abandon false perceptions.
