Armenia submits 10th peace treaty proposal to Azerbaijan
Armenia has submitted its 10th package of proposals for a peace treaty to Azerbaijan, according to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan announced this during the "Armenia and the EU" conference, held as part of the GLOBSEC forum in Prague, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian Foreign Ministry's website.
In his remarks, Kostanyan highlighted Armenia's foreign policy priorities, emphasizing the need for diversification to safeguard the country's sovereignty, international borders, and democratic values.
"Touching upon the process of the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, Vahan Kostanyan noted that Armenia had handed over to the Azerbaijani side the 10th package of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan," the ministry said.
Kostanyan also confirmed that Armenia had forwarded the 10th set of peace proposals to Azerbaijan and reiterated Yerevan's commitment to establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus region.
Yerevan received the 10th package of proposals for the peace treaty draft from Baku on June 26, 2024. A month later, at the end of July, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan stated that Yerevan's response proposals were still under development and added that Armenia is ready to sign the agreement as soon as possible, based on the already outlined and presented key principles.
