Azerbaijan in solidarity with Gaza amid Middle East crisis PM ASADOV SAYS
Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov expressed deep concern over the escalating situation in the Middle East and conveyed solidarity with the people of Gaza as he addressed the special session on Palestine and Lebanon at the 11th summit of the D8 Organization for Economic Cooperation in Cairo.
Asadov emphasized the severe humanitarian consequences of the crisis, including the loss of tens of thousands of innocent lives in Gaza and other Palestinian territories, as well as the destruction of vital civil infrastructure, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
He highlighted the critical level of the ongoing crisis and reiterated the urgent need for measures to prevent further bloodshed.
Speaking on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Asadov conveyed solidarity with the people of Gaza, urging the international community to take swift and decisive action to alleviate the suffering and restore peace in the region.
The D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, also known as Developing-8, was established in Istanbul in 1997 which includes Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Türkiye. The organisation’s key objective is to enhance economic cooperation among its member states, which aims to stimulate economic growth, sustain development, and elevate living standards. This is achieved by concentrating efforts on improving and boosting collaboration in several key areas including agriculture, trade, transportation, industry, energy, and tourism.
