Azerbaijan, Italy discuss prospects for strategic partnership in various fields
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Edmondo Cirielli on April 3.
Gratification with the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy was expressed at the meeting. The prospects for strategic partnership in political, economic, trade, energy, humanitarian, educational and other fields were discussed, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
The sides exchanged views on Azerbaijan's partnership with the EU, expansion of cooperation in energy, alternative energy, transport projects.
Bayramov informed Cirielli about the vandalism committed by Armenia during the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories for 30 years, the process of normalising the Azerbaijan-Armenia relations after the 2020 war, as well as the negotiation process for the preparation of a peace treaty, Azerbaijan’s ongoing restoration and construction processes in the liberated lands.
Bayramov spoke about the violation of obligations by the Armenian side, its political and military provocations and the ongoing mine threat.
Noting that Azerbaijan is a strategic partner of Italy, Cirielli stressed that after the end of the conflict, a new favourable period began in the region.
He also spoke about new opportunities for the comprehensive expansion of ties between the two countries and the prospects for developing cooperation.
